TPL is currently engaged with a leading medical technology company that designs, develops, manufactures, and markets retinal imaging devices. They were looking for assistance in developing their leaders, creating a structured framework for decision making and critical thinking towards problem solving, and building effective communication practices.

Design and execute a 12-month leadership and management essentials program to create a framework for leadership behavioral norms, and more clearly define the culture and models for building high-performance teams.

Needs Analysis

We interviewed 6 executives to gain valuable insights regarding the strengths and development opportunities of the leadership team. We gathered and analyzed employee engagement survey data to better understand the specific learning objectives of the management team, and provided stakeholders with recommended content and flow of the series based on findings.

Development Program

Development Program

Facilitated a Leadership Development series consisting of (4) two-day in-person training events to build management and leadership skills and generate a shared management language for the leadership team. Each full-day session had specific expectations and action items regarding on-the-job application. Sessions balanced review of best practices with facilitation designed to enhance the likelihood of implementation.

Assessments & Coaching

Assessments & Coaching

Each participant completed the 360 feedback review process (both baseline assessment and a 6-month "pulse" survey to assess progress against targeted areas). This included (2) 30-minute coaching calls to review individual reports and help with action planning. Psychometric assessments conducted were to understand emotional intelligence levels, leadership influencing style, and developmental readiness.


TPL’s initial 12-month leadership and management essentials program involved twenty global sales managers. Over the course of the program the group accomplished:

  • Development of aligned leadership culture and new behavioral norms
  • Creation of a team charter with guiding principles, supporting behaviors and accountability mechanisms
  • Dramatically improved 360 survey scores
  • The two leaders that improved the most took their regions to the top in sales revenue
  • $250 MM in revenue with a $50 MM profit directly associated with program results

The client partner was so satisfied with the results, TPL has been engaged in two additional ongoing programs.
